Jeff Bezos and his contemporaries are using their fortunes to achieve God-like ambitions for the future.
The American novelist F Scott Fitzgerald once wrote: “Let me tell you about the very rich. They are different from you and me.” To which Ernest Hemingway provided a rejoinder in his short story “The Snows of Kilimanjaro”: “Yes, they’re very special. They have more money.”
